September Update: Enjoy Your Analysis Among 21.491 Players and 483 Teams on xvalue.ai!

Our dedication to continuously improve user experience and deliver the highest quality services remains firm. Alongside our commitment to innovation, we also value our past. As a result, we are now able to provide data for 21,491 different players and 483 different teams. This substantial dataset reflects our commitment to continuous growth and improvement.

Players and Teams outside of our covered leagues

Did you know that you can review advanced stats and seasonal performances from previous seasons? While this has always been available for players in our leagues, we now also provide coverage for players who may not currently be playing in leagues available on xvalue. In other words, you may access data from their past seasons when they were part of leagues covered by our platform.

When searching for a player or team when using the search bar, you may notice an icon with a question mark and the words ‘Previous Seasons Available‘ This indicates that, even if the subject of your search now belongs to a league that we do not currently cover, you’ll still have the option to access and analyse data from the player’s previous seasons played in leagues available in our database.

In addition, once you are directed to the page of the searched player, a blue banner (which you will be able to close by clicking on the X in the upper right corner) will appear at the top of the screen, indicating that the data displayed refers to the last season available in the database regarding that player.

The same principle also applies to all the teams that were part of our database but now (for example, due to relegation) started competing in leagues that we do not currently cover.

This is the case for Malaga, relegated from the Segunda to the Tercera Division in the 2022/23 season.

Looking back at past seasons can be useful in a multitude of ways, here we name just a few among many:

  1. Confronting performances for the same or different players can give you insights on the impact of tactical changes on the players’ output.
  2. Check how a players’ cluster (function on the pitch) has evolved throughout the years
  3. Evaluate his positioning among other players in the league for the main advanced metrics (Expected Goals, Expected Assists, Expected Threat, xOVA)

To view data for the different seasons, simply select the season from the drop-down menu in the upper right corner.

For example, did you know that despite a monstrous debut season Haaland hasn’t actually scored the most non-penalty goals in a Premier League season since 2017/18? Can you guess who scored more than Haaland’s 29 non-penalty goals?

Here is the answer:

Consider that we currently have 21,491 players on our platform covering all seasons in our 17 leagues* since 2017/18. So you have the chance to get access to an exceptional amount of data useful for your analyses or just for curiosity.

*SPOILER* Stay tuned as many more leagues will be coming soon!
